Dasha Krasova stands almost six feet tall and came to America recently by way of Siberia, Russia. She has modeled all over the world, mostly in the category of fashion editorial, yet is only 20 years young. It took some persuasion to have her grace Zishy.
Because, along with her impressive looks, Dasha brought some conservative Orthodox values to the States. In the end, my persistence wore her down and she managed to crack a smile on several occasions and seemed at ease. She is definitely a sweet and beautiful woman I would love to photograph again.
Alice Wonder wants to ride her bicycle. As much as Freddie Mercury? Probably not. However, I know she would never use banned substances just to ride faster than others like good ol’ Lance. Which brings me to a subject that has been on my mind for a while. Mr. Armstrong was admired by millions because he battled cancer and was a champion.
Pistorius was similarly glorified for competing on the Olympic track without most of his lower limbs. Yet both of these global tales of heroism are now tainted with scandal. Lance was on the juice and Pistorius allegedly gunned down his girl out of jealous rage. What’s next? It just goes to show that we’re all flawed, well except Alice Wonder of course. Less evening news, more Zishy!
It was not hard to bring the rebel side out of Tristan Berrimore. We took these in one of the nicer neighborhoods of North Hollywood. Tristan is from Florida. Apparently, there are lots of naughty kids in that state. You ever seen the movie, Bully? That had a lasting impression of the Floridian youth on me.
I also recall the one time I was in the Sunshine State. It was for a wedding and we took the groom out for an impromptu bachelor party. At the club, the most eye-catching stripper wore a smile full of braces and did not look a lick above 17. Through my covert investigation, I discovered that my suspicions were justified. They grow up fast in Florida. True story.
It was one of those warm Summer days that makes the distant Winter seem like a movie you once watched, but can not quite recall the plot of. Lily Ivy was able to experience Santa Monica for the first time in perfect beach-going weather. Lily is from Tennessee. Recently, she learned how to wield her beauty and sexuality in front of a webcam for a living.
I asked her if she has uncovered any kinks of her own. She confessed to deriving pleasure from being spit upon. From the bonus video, it seems that might go both ways for Lily. The melody is an instrumental version of ‘If I were a rich man’ from “Fiddler on the Roof”.
Sloan Kendricks is one of the tallest women that I have ever photographed. She stands 6’1″ and is eighteen years old. In high school, Sloan dominated on the volleyball team. Even though this girl looks like the next top fashion model, she is humble, intelligent, and as far as you can get from a diva.
She says she has a nerdy side because she enjoys Marvel and the field of genetic engineering. After a recent fatal tragedy with her pet puppy, Sloan was able to carry on and smile and tease us. Tres cool, Sloan.
If you’re not big on tattoos, I feel ya. If you do not like Piper Candless, tough. I have a few galleries on her. I had to trek back up to Palm Springs just to photograph Piper. She was leaving the area, so the window of opportunity was mighty slim. Nonetheless, I knew that I had to capture this eccentric beauty with her athletic body for your eyes.
We woke up at the crack of dawn for these images. Piper had her espresso, I had my camera. We get out there and within minutes, she tells me that this setting calls for her to strip out of her clothes. Alright, Piper. No complaints here. Can you see the Ryan McGinley influence on this one?
A while ago I became intrigued with photos that I found floating on the net where you see a girl clothed and then right next to it, the same girl in a similar pose but with less clothing on. When I met Ingrid Hayes for this shoot, I explained the concept and we gave it a go. Ingrid is a pleasant young lady with the essence of a hipster, however I still think she’s pretty cool.
I poked around her place for items we could use as a prop and she whipped out a 35mm film camera that she got at Urban Outfitters. I only ever owned one film camera and it was a broken one that I don’t think I ever figured out how to work. I never found where to plug in the USB cable to download the photos?!?
